A History Of The Title Sequence from jurjen versteeg on Vimeo.

This is a life action video plus 2D vector graphics. It is a fictitious documentary title sequence. The documentary will talk about the title sequence history and the revolutionary title designers.

In this case, it is a really good idea to using the life action video with digital elements. It is not just using digital graphics to represent the title sequence. Because of the elements are used in the video, it gives the historical feeling to audience. All the stuffs in the video such as table, chair, pencil, ruler, lamp and ink are really simple design that we can tell there are not nowadays design products. These old stuffs suit the theme and the topic very well with the warm and beautiful light. The lighting in this video also is excellent. The light, shadow and the warm tone are working very well to display the strongly historical feeling. Even I have no idea about those title designers, I can guess the 2D victor graphics and the way that it presents the title designers name are actually base on those revolutionary titles. There are just a few simple shapes in the vector graphics but they does get the point of the main idea. It is really nice angles during video shooting which are mostly top views or topside views.

Video plus animation is a clever style in this motion graphic. The rhythm is neither really fast nor really slow. The music is a little bit briskly but somehow it fits the video. Last but not least, it is the "WINNER OF THE VIMEO AWARDS 2012 in CATEGORY MOTION GRAPHICS".
